What
does ASPO Switzerland want?

ASPO Switzerland was founded in Zuerich on the 27th of June 2006, as an association in the sense of Art. 60 ff. of Swiss Civil Law. In accordance with Article 3 of the association\'s statutes, the association pursues the following aims:
1. To pursue the creation of a wider awareness of the Peak Oil and Gas phenomena and of their consequences.
2. To make sure that reliable and transparent data on global Oil and Gas reserves and on global Oil and Gas production be made publicly accessible, so that such data may be used as a basis for political decisions.
3. To estimate the rate at which Oil and Gas reserves may be produced,
and to assess the security of future Oil and Gas supplies.
4. To determine when the global oil and gas peaks will be reached,
and what the consequences will be of the global decline of extraction.
5. To contribute in such a way that responsible state institutions may develop strategies in time, in order to mitigate the consequences of declining supply of Oil and Gas, to minimize energy losses, to enhance energy efficiency, to support renewable energy sources, and in that way to reduce Switzerland\'s dependency on Oil and Gas, and thus in accordance with Art. 89 of the Swiss federal constitution, to ensure a sufficient, diversified, reliable, and economical energy supply compatible with the protection of the environment.
6. To call attention to and to warn about the heavy consequences of delaying Switzerland\'s preparation for Peak Oil.
7. To investigate what the interactions are between on the one hand Peak Oil, and on the other hand resource wars, terror and climate change.
