Dr. Daniele Ganser
President

Daniele Ganser is a Historian and Peace researcher at the History Seminar of Basel University. He was born in 1972 and is of Swiss nationality. He received his school education in Basel. Studied history, philosophy, english literature and international relations at the University of Basel, the University of Amsterdam and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Masters 1998, PhD 2001. From 2001 – 2003 he worked as a Senior Researcher for the Think tank Avenir Suisse in Zürich. From 2003 to 2006 he worked as a Senior Research at the Center for Security Studies at the ETH in Zürich. He is not a member of a political party. Lives in Arlesheim, Switzerland, with his wife and daughter.

Documentary film producer, born in 1962, Swiss nationality. School education in Basel. Studied ethnology and economy. Reporter for Swiss Television. Foreign correspondent and television producer in various countries. 1987 - 1990 Correspondent European Business Chanel in Paris. 1990 - 1993 German Television. 1992 n-tv in Berlin. Since 1993: Film writer and producer for NZZ Format. Owner of the Lava Productions company. Director (with Ray McCormack) of: „A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash” (2006). Basil Gelpke is a member of the FDP party. He lives in Zürich, Switzerland with his wife and children.

Schools and studies in Basel. 1965-1975 Exploration geologist for Texaco in Ecuador, Senegal, Mauritanien, Mali, Niger. 1976-1980 active for Deutsche Texaco in Hamburg, and Umm al Qwain in UAE; 1980-1984 Chief Geologist for Amoco in Norway; 1984-1991 Chief of Explorations for Amoco in Libreville and Port Gentil, Gabon; 1991-1993 Chief of Explorations for Amoco in Pointe Noire, Republic of Congo; 1993-1995 Resident and Exploration Manager for Amoco in Libreville, Gabon; 1995-1997 Consulting Geologist in Libreville, Gabon, for Amoco and Philipps Petroleum. Retired since Nov. 1997 Married since 1964, two married daughters. Lives in Münchenstein, Switzerland.

Retired since 1992, active as advisor. Married, one son and two married stepdaughters. Int. Editorial board of „Marine and Petroleum Geology“, Former Foreign Secretary of the London Geological Society; Trustee ASPO Ireland. Lives in Chardonne, Switzerland.

Chemist, born in 1936, schools and studies in Neuhausen, Schaffhausen and at the ETH Zürich, 1965-1967 Miller Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. 1967-1969 Assistent teacher at the ETHZ; 1969-2006 Professor at Fribourg University; 1980 - 1992 Member of the research council for the Swiss National Fund, 1984 - 1992 Head of the exact, engeneering and natural sciences department; 1987 - 1992 Member of CORE (Federal Commission for energy research). 1994 Research visitor at the University of California, Berkeley. 1995 - 1998 President of the Swiss Chemical Association. 2004 - 2006 President of the Association of Swiss Higher Education Teachers. 1996 - 2006 Member of the counsil of the Marcel Benoist Foundation. Retired since October 2006. Married since 1960, two married children, four grandchildren. Lives in Brissago, Ticino Switzerland.
